Specializing in classic French bistro food, Bistro Les Gras prides itself on its warm and inviting atmosphere, its attentive staff, and its local and seasonal, comfortably priced menu.

Our July menu is posted and in full swing.  As of July 1st, we will no longer be accepting reservations except for parties of 5 or more guests.  We appologize for any inconveniences, but this will allow more people to enjoy Bistro Les Gras.

Our first Wine Dinner is scheduled for August 3rd - see the Events page for more details.  Check out our events page for information on our wine dinner and our new Sunday Brunch.  Also new is our cheese club in The Market, a great way to enjoy new cheeses!

Thanks and see you soon!
What does "Les Gras" mean?

People have been asking why we named the restaurant Bistro Les Gras.  First and foremost it is the name of a beautiful village in the southeast of France bordering Switzerland.  We have been trying to visit Les Gras for a number of years with no avail.  In honor of our efforts, we have decided to bring a little bit of Les Gras to Northampton.

Les Gras also means "the fats," in terms of culinary uses.  We know that French food can have a poor reputation when it comes to eating light and we would like to show you that French food can be prepared in a style that is not all butter and cream.  French food is clean and complex.  We liked the play on words so we ran with it.
